Spiritual Life

Sr. Guia Jimenez, RSM

Pastoral Associate for Spiritual Life

Phone: 856-784-8501

In today's world, many Catholics find themselves seeking resources to help them achieve a mature understanding of their faith and how to live it. St. Andrew’s is blessed with a Spiritual Life Office whose goal is to foster such growth. Many programs hosted by the Spiritual Life office strive to open the way to contemplation, meditation and spiritual renewal using various approaches.

We invite you to explore our Spiritual Life Ministry. In addition to the regularly scheduled meetings, we also organize special events throughout the year. Check back for announcements of specially planned evenings of reflection, days of renewal, trips, guest speakers and more.

Adult Altar Servers

Specially trained men and women serve in a special capacity as Masters of Ceremony, to assist the priests and deacons. They also serve along with our younger servers providing guidance and direction. For more information about this ministry or training sessions, contact the Parish Office at 856-784-3878.

Active Adults

Our Active Adults group began back in 2005. The mission of our group is to create an opportunity for parishioners over 55 to come together at social activities, meet other parishioners and to get to know them better. Some of our activities have included a game night, a wine and cheese party, a pot luck dinner, and Bunco night. We also have an annual end of year dinner in the spring.

Adult Faith Group

Our Active Faith Group has three events yearly to help adults grow and deepen their faith.

Annual Parish Mission

Each year the parish invites a guest to lead us in events and activities over a period of a few days, with the goal of refreshing parishioners’ spirits.

Book Club

Women gather monthly in the evening to discuss a book chosen by the group. Meetings are rotated through the member’s homes.

Cake Bakers

Parishioners sign up to bake cakes, cookies, and other goodies for various parish social functions throughout the year.

Cancer Support Group

This is an ongoing support group where we meet and discuss various topics in a faith-based environment. Speakers are invited who focus on the part that God, faith, and prayer play in each individual's experience with cancer. Meetings are held on the last Monday of each month.

Cornerstone Retreats

This is an outstanding opportunity to meet and interact with other women of the Parish, in a welcoming, non-judgmental environment. Our retreat weekend provides an opportunity to step out of the hustle of daily life to pause and reflect about those things that matter most to you. Its an opportunity to examine your relationship with God, your family and others in your life. Everyday women share stories and experiences of trying to live the Gospel amidst the challenges of the modern world. It’s a simple but moving experience. The retreat is facilitated by a team of St. Andrew’s parishioners.

Charismatic Prayer Group

This prayer group meets every Friday in the chapel from 7:30 to 9:30 PM. The meetings consist of music, intercessory prayer, Scripture sharing, and spiritual instruction. Participants are encouraged to grow in their daily prayer and Bible reading. After the meetings many participants go to a nearby diner for coffee and fellowship. The prayer meeting is open to everyone.

Men's Faith Sharing Group

St. Andrew's Men's Group meets once a month, typically on the first Sunday evening of the month in the nursery of the church. The Men's Group is open to all men of the parish, and seeks to foster greater growth and support for men. The meetings consist of topics of interest to men, group discussion, and prayer. Participants find greater connection and fellowship with other men in the parish.

Messages of the Heart Day

This is a popular parish-sponsored get-together for women that mixes "just-for-fun" sessions with thoughtful programs on prayer. Enjoy a musical performance and keynote presentation. A catered lunch and closing inspirational message are part of this special day.

MOPS/Mothers of Preschoolers

Mothers of Preschoolers is a Christian based program designed to nurture mothers with children from infancy through kindergarten. Our mission is to encourage, equip and develop every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader in the name of Jesus Christ. MOPS typically meets twice per month on Tuesday mornings from September through May.

New Life/Bereavement Group

New Life is an ongoing support and educational experience for adults who have lost a loved one. Meetings occur weekly for eight consecutive Mondays three times a year. Our mission is to help those who have suffered loss experience renewal and further develop their faith.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
